A quick 20 miles on the Allez Friday before heading to ATL, then 30 miles on the SCT with Holle as a shakedown for the Outer Banks. She rode her Jamis and I pulled 50 lbs of tile in the BOB on my Surly.

500+ miles on the fixed gear as of last night, and the vernal equinox. Time to put it away and break out the gearie. Besides, if I'd had gears I wouldn't have gotten chicked. Not that it won't be the last time, I'm sure.

22 mile trail ride Friday at Harbison, and 45 miles yesterday on the tandem. For a picnic!

35 miles on the fix tonight. In daylight! W00t! And new uglypants! W00t w00t! And I checked Tom's average speed from the other day: 9mph for 7+ miles. W00t w00t w00t!!!

A beautiful warm night last night. Planned to ride about 4:30, but Paris Nice was on so I didn't get out the door until 6. But there was a full moon, Jupiter and Venus are conjuncting (is that a word?), and I've got good lights, so no big deal. 36 miles on the fixed gear.

200k brevet out of Gainesville GA Saturday.

Comfortable pace all day. Easy on the climbs, coast the descents -- don't get the heart rate too high. Interesting change of pace.

I rode the Surly, which did great. Very comfortable. 133 miles on the day in 9:55 total, 9:02 rolling.
